Great news for UK e-commerce

Now is the time to get connected to the internet. It is really not going away and your competitors may already be connected to it. You may not wish to sell directly on-line but your existing and potential customers and business partners may wish to find out about more about you through the internet. You may have a special offer. If and when you do - broadcast it through your website.

Via e-mail customers and business partners can send you an order. They can make a reservation. They can ask for more information - even from abroad. In just two decades, the fax has come and all but gone. The internet has replaced it and mail as the standard medium of written communication.

For a limited period, a Central London firm, Delphi Communication, will set you up on-line and fast. From start to finish the process will probably take one week including the 3 days or so it takes to search and obtain confirmation of domain name availablity from the internet names register.

For a flat rate of GBP950 plus vat, this will include:

• Registration of .co.uk domain name such as our own dc3.co.uk (choice of name is subject to availability) plus domain registration and domain hosting fees for 2 years.
• The domain name will belong to you and not Delphi and can be transferred by you after 2 years. There will be an administration charge of GBP 50 plus vat if transfer is required before the end of 2 years. Delphi believes that the cheapest domain registration and hosting fees in 2 years' time should be no more than GBP 50 plus vat per annum.
• Registration of free webspace of 25MB arranged by Delphi.
• Set up of a free e-mail account if necessary. For a meaningful internet site you MUST have e-mail which MUST be checked and responded to AT LEAST once a business day - Delphi responds to e-mails every hour.
• Forwarding of registered domain to free webspace.
• Advice on the purchase of a computer and modem if necessary.
• Design and development of website including upto 5000 words of text provided by you in clear print or diskette. No more than 1000 is recommended, however. The extra text could be for full descriptions of products and services.
• Upto 5 photographs to be provided you for digitising and uploading by Delphi onto your internet site.
• Upto 2 hours on-site or on-telephone training and advice. Anyone reasonably proficient with a word processing program should be able to update your website after the training without external help.
• This offer does not include the price of telephone connection by you for e-mail collection and delivery or for updating of the website. Telephone connection costs incurred by Delphi are included.
• This does not include e-mail support. This will be provided by the e-mail provider which can be upto GBP1 per minute.

Future web support will be provided but will be charged at GBP250 plus vat an hour if charged by Delphi. Simple queries and assistance will be provided free for upto one week.
