Warren Hastings, 1732–1818, British colonial administrator who as governor-general of India instituted British control of the Indian government.
Warren Edwardes was named after Warren Hastings. His father, Lt. Col Cyril Edwardes DeLima lived near the Viceroy's statue in Calcutta in 1952.
